From February 14 through February 17 Sallisaw is expected to have a significant weather event with snow and extremely dangerous wind chills. Preliminary forecasts predicts snowfall amounts in the 5-12 inches range.
Along with the snow, wind chills are expected to be at, or below zero for several days.
City of Sallisaw Sanitation Routes and Other City Services: Customers should note that the City will attempt to run sanitation routes as normal, as weather allows. The health and safety of our workers is a top priority. Significant snow and extreme wind chills may delay your normal sanitation pick-up for up to three days. Other city services may be delayed as well. As always, during these types of events, customers should have a plan in place in case of power outages. Also, check on your elderly family members and neighbors.
