Beginning Saturday, August 1, 2020, masks will be required for entry into any city building.
“To be proactive in dealing with the COVID-19 virus, we are taking these steps for the health and wellbeing of our citizens and the protection of our employees. We ask all citizens to follow the guidelines set out and to wear a mask when entering any city building. Our employees will also be wearing masks as much as possible while performing their duties. As a city, we must continue to provide services no matter what happens during the COVID-19 event. Masks will help reduce the risk of infection, providing some safety assurance for our employees,” stated Keith Skelton, City Manager.
The mask requirement will apply to any citizen or city employee entering any city building. In addition to City Hall and the various field department buildings, the requirement will also apply to the Police Department, Fire Department, Library and Airport buildings.
