The City of Sallisaw is currently having issues with Manganese in our treated water which is causing a green/yellow tint in some areas of the City.
We wish to inform our water users that our water is safe for consumption and we are working on adjustments at our treatment plant.
Manganese is a mineral that can affect the color of water. Issues with Manganese typically occur in spring or fall. Water temperature and lack of rain can be contributing factors causing this issue.
