[ARCHIVED] Manganese Causing Tinted Water

news_icon_small_thumb.png

The City of Sallisaw is currently having issues with Manganese in its treated water which is causing a green/yellow tint in some locations of our distribution system.

We wish to inform our water users that our treated water is safe for consumption and we are working on adjustments at our treatment plant to clear up the water.

Manganese is a mineral that can affect the color of water. Issues with Manganese typically occur in spring or fall. Water temperature and lack of rain can be contributing factors causing Manganese to disrupt our water treatment process.
