The Oklahoma State Department of Health announced today that the City of Sallisaw Water Treatment Plant has been given a Water Fluoridation Quality Award from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The City of Sallisaw treatment plant is one of 2,282 public water systems across the United States and 35 in the State of Oklahoma to receive this recognition.
“The Oklahoma State Department of Health supports community water fluoridation and recognizes the practice as beneficial to all who drink and use the water,” said Dr. Jana Winfree, Director of Dental Health Service at the Oklahoma State Department of Health. “Healthy happy smiles improve the quality of life.”
